VETERANS HONOR MONUMENT
ON THE COVER
Vietnam Era veteran graduates of Loveland High School wanted
to honor veterans in a way that creates awareness and community
cohesiveness, so they formed The Veterans Honor Monument,
a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Their mission is to honor,
remember, and provide a healing experience for current veterans,
and educate future generations. They’ve planned a beautiful
park honoring all branches of the armed forces.
“Wings of Honor,” a bronze sculpture (see below) has been
created by renowned Loveland artist, Pat Kennedy. Kennedy
was a natural choice for this project, as a Colorado native, a
graduate of Loveland High School and a veteran with more than
twenty-seven years of service. The architectural and engineering
design plans were done by architecture firm Hauser Associates,
and landscape designer TST.
The Monument will serve Loveland and neighboring communities
as a place of recognition, reflection and healing for veterans.
Through public events, our younger generations can be educated
about the sacrifices our veterans made to protect the sovereignty
of our country.
The Veterans Honor Monument will be located at the Loveland
Sports Park, 950 N. Boyd Lake Ave. It is expected to be completed
in 2025. Become a supporter at veteranshonormonument.org.
